Work at the Recreation Ground

Councillors at work at Llangattock Recreation Ground

Councillors and a volunteer working to crown lift the memorial silver birch trees at the Recreation Ground

Important work has been going on in the Recreation Ground this week. Our contractors, OTM have been clearing land at the side of the park and this morning, Councillors and a volunteer were out removing the lower branches from the silver birches along Park Drive. This work could not wait because we are getting close to nesting season but the branches were posing a hazard to people walking in the road and using the rec. The silver birches are very important to Llangattock, as they replaced a line of birches planted there in 1947 by families of Llangattock heroes who had died in the war

A friendly, vibrant, forward-thinking village in the South East corner of the county of Powys. We are surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
