£49,999 grant award for Llangattock.

Llangattock Community Council is delighted to announce that it has been awarded £49,999 towards the cost of constructing a wheelchair-accessible path around the Recreation Ground.  The award, by the Welsh Government’s Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme, will allow it to take another big step towards making the park accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

Creating a trail around the park has been at the top of community surveys since 2016. The application was backed by dozens of letters of support from residents and community groups in Llangattock and further afield.  Llangattock Community Council extends its gratitude to them and the WCVA, which administered the award, and looks forward to working with them in future to deliver the project.

When completed, the path will link all areas of the Recreation Ground together and make it easier for everyone to use. Work will start this summer!

A friendly, vibrant, forward-thinking village in the South East corner of the county of Powys. We are surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
