Designing new kissing gates

Thank you to everyone who turned out on a cold afternoon to help design new accessible gates for the path between the bridge over the River Usk and the centre of Llangattock. We created a flexible mock-up of a wheelchair accessible gate and tested it with a child's buggy and a wheelchair as well as a large electric bike to replicate a motorcycle - which we would not want to get through. Thank you Fran Bateman from Accessibility Powys, Sarah Milosevic and baby Alex, Helen Barber and Helen and Graeme from The Plas. We now have nearly enough to apply for a grant from the Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Grant Scheme administered by the WCVA to pay for the work. Once that is done, we will need to do further design work and will want more people's views as well.

A friendly, vibrant, forward-thinking village in the South East corner of the county of Powys. We are surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
