The silver birch trees along Park Drive are important to Llangattock. They replaced a line of birches planted there in 1947 by families of Llangattock heroes who had died in the war.  Councillors and a volunteer were out removing the lower branches in January 2021.  This work could not wait because they were getting close to nesting season, but the branches posed a hazard to people walking in the road and using the rec. Special thanks to Cllr Gwyn Dobbs who provided the tractor, trailer and chainsaw.  More important work had been going on in the Recreation Ground this week. The Council's contractors, OTM cleared the land at the side of the park.
